There are three choices when designing a new badge. You can either:
1) Design your own badge online with a few simple steps to create a customized and personalized name tag. You don't need to be a graphic designer to design your badge on-line with our design tool. Watch our videos to see how easy it is.
- OR -
2) If you are a graphic designer and would like to design something more complex than can be achieved with our online design function, we have provided the following information and guidelines to help you get the most out of your design.
PLEASE NOTE: Where possible, please create just one badge and supply us with a list of names and/or titles (Excel preferred). We do not accept multi-page PDF files without an accompanying list of names. If you have to design all of the badges, please supply one document (preferably PDF) containing all of the designs on one page (page size doesn't matter) using the cutlines from the Badge Templates below.
The first step to creating your own badge is to:
This template contains badge sizes and the printable area for each of our badges.
Image Submission Guidelines
Bleed
Any parts of the design which are intended to print to the trimmed edge of the badge should be extended 2mm beyond the cut line to give a 'bleed' (which allows for tolerance in the production process). Any text or images should be inset approximately 2mm inside the cut line.
Colors / Color Matching
Here at Name Badges International, we are able to design badges from a variety of methods. When specifying a color, we can accept any of the following:
Please note that, although we strive to reproduce designs as faithfully as possible, we cannot guarantee any color matches. We recommend ordering 1 badge as a sample to confirm colors.
* We print in CMYK, if you supply us with a Pantone® color we will try to match as closely as possible.
Fonts
We have a vast library of thousands of fonts on our system. But you might want to check with us when submitting your order if your design uses a rare or obscure font. If it is not subject to any licensing then why not attach the font with your artwork and we will add it to our collection.
Submitting Files
We can accept logos and badge designs in almost any format, but if the badge has been designed using a vector based program it is always best to prevent rasterising the design. As such, our preferred file formats are listed below:
As previously mentioned, we can open almost anything. In the unlikely event that you send us a file we cannot open, we will contact you about your options.
We can currently accept files via email up to around 6MB.
We suggest creating your name badge design with longest name/title for centering purposes.
Reusable Badges
NBi offers Reusable badges that can be personalized with a name and title in-house using our perforated paper, downloadable templates and your own printer. There are several templates to use depending on how the badge was designed, but each can be easily downloaded for users to type in the names and titles.
